PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE

The Public Relations Committee shall:

• Have the primary objective of the Public Relations Committee is to inform the public about activities of the Society. This includes publicizing the annual meeting, distributing news releases, announcing annual award winners, and aiding the membership committee in releasing information to attract new members.



• Carry out activities with the assistance of both the MCES and MAFES Editorial Departments. The MCES Information Department also can be helpful in getting announcements broadcast statewide via radio programming and the Farm Week television program.



• Distribute news releases to newspapers with statewide circulation and circulation into adjoining states. Releases may also be distributed through several regional and national newsletters such as the SWSS and WSSA Newsletters.



• Utilize mailouts to the MWSS membership and mailouts distributed by other related organizations in the state to include MDAC, Division of Plant Industry, Mississippi Agricultural Consultant Association, and others.



• Exercise discretion in the use of available vehicles to publicize the activities of the Society.
